Today is my birthday! Hurrah! I have finally hit 25 years. And yet, I am just as jovial and youthful as I have ever been.

A few days ago, (I believe it was Valentine's day) Nikolai Xenofontov, the Grammar instructor, sent me the most beautiful white roses. It gives such a wonderful smell to my room and matches the light decor so well. It makes me smile. Fanny, however, feels the need to want to play with it. She's so sweet though. Lately, she's been feeling rather lonely, as her dear owner has not been able to spend time with her exclusively. However, when she sees me, she behaves as a child that has seen her father after a long workday.

Yesterday, Nikolai asked me to the St. Sophronia's ball again. This time, I accepted. He seems to be a kind gentleman with the right amount of decorum, even though he can be a bit of a cad. It makes me smile.

So, this has been a very busy week for me.

First, I got settled into the school. As I went into the Antechamber to greet the young boys, I noticed two boys in what seemed to be a slight confronatation. One boy seemed to be tormenting the other, while the taller and elder boy had a death grip on the smaller boy's finger. I had to kindly break up that one. I really didn't know who the boys were until I saw the face of the other.

The tall one was Everett Belvidere. I remember him from last year. He's completely handsome and has very aristocratic features, but he's so scary. Last year, he was relatively violent. Headmaster Bedfore made him into the Lazarus prefect. The teachers tend to be a little bit scared of him, but I merely keep my distance.

The shorter one was James Yorke. He was a gentleman, and he kissed my hand. Apparently, flattery is very fun.

As I entered into my room, I noticed that the maids didn't bother anything, but they did a fine job cleaning. But what was the first thing that Fanny did when she got in there? She climbed to her basket and went to sleep, that cat!

At dinner, I met a man who seems to be very flirtatious. Handsome he is indeed, but he's a little bit too flirty. Later, he asked me to tea, for the simple fact of asking me to a ball that will eventually be between St. Sophronia's School for Girls and Chesterfields. It's really adorable and very sweet, but I had to tell him that I don't quite know him well enough. It was really quite nice though. And as for the ball, we found out about this during dinner. Some of the reactions ranged from terror to pure apathy. It was truly hilarious.

Now, I have to go to my class and prepare lesson plans. I will write later.

So now I've entered Chesterfield's for another year of teaching. It's very nice to see these young men again, no matter how little mind I pay them. I've learned the talent of ignoring catcalls and things.

Fanny seems to be very hungry. Poor kitten. I know how she feels though, the poor dear. That's okay though, she will be fed generously, the poor dear.

Ah, my first entry in another diary. I keep spending money on these things, yet I will never know why.

And another year is about to begin at the Chesterfield school. More madness from these spoiled and very perverse little boys that they hope to turn into gentlemen.

But my resolution this year - I hope to find a husband one day. I would rather it not happen during term, but hell, you take what you can get. Just as long as it's not one of these immature little terrors.

Talk to you later!
